Connecting Specialists: KIMS ICU Hub Links 10 Hospitals for Remote Patient Consultations”

Hubballi: Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundurao inaugurated a 10-bed ICU Hub at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences in Hubballi on Saturday. During the inauguration, district in-charge minister Santosh Lad, former CM Jagadish Shettar, MLAs NH Konaraddi, Prasad Abbayya, Mahesh Tenginkai, and others were present.

In his address, Minister Gundurao urged doctors to leverage AI and new technologies to enhance patient care. He highlighted the significance of the newly inaugurated Tele ICU Hub, emphasizing that it would alleviate the pressure on District Hospitals. Patients can now receive specialist advice remotely, contributing to more effective treatments.

The KIMS ICU Hub is seamlessly connected to 10 spoke hospitals. This connectivity enables doctors at KIMS to directly interact with both patients and the treating doctors at these hospitals. Specialist doctors from KIMS can provide valuable advice through the Taluka hospital doctor via this advanced telemedicine facility.

Minister Gundurao revealed plans for future expansions, with the upcoming inauguration of hubs in Bengaluru and Ballari. He also announced the launch of the Puneeth Rajkumar Hridya Jyoti scheme next month, set to be implemented in 48 hospitals in the first phase and 41 hospitals in the second stage. The government is actively working on several new schemes to address the needs of patients with kidney failure and other ailments.

The Government Hospitals of Basavana Bagewadi, Jamakhandi, Savadatti, Gokak, Nargund, Kundagol, Shiggaon, Yallapur, Bhatkal, and Haveri have been seamlessly connected to the KIMS Hub. During the inauguration ceremony, KIMS Director Dr. SF Kammar, Principal Dr. Ishwar Hosamani, Head of the Gynecology department Dr. Ramalingappa Antaratni, Dr. Rajashekhar Dyaberi, along with students and others, were present to mark the momentous occasion.
